In the last post, I've embedded a YouTube video presented by Dr. Barry Burns on how to identify the trend using a simple moving average. But the age old question always arises, and that is, how do you trade with the trend now that you know what it is? It usually becomes a problem for novice traders to trend trade and be consistently profitable especially when using indicators. But I dare to say that it is possible.
One of the most important aspects of trend trading is timing provided that other factors (adequately funded, time of day, instrument, risk management, plan, etc...) are taken care of.
Timing is everything when trying to trade with the trend. You want to position yourself in the trend with a high probability that the trade will go in your favor. The two resources below reveal two different methods on timing your entry in a trend using indicators.
RESOURCES
1. On Tradekingdom.com archived webinar section, we find a recorded webinar, by Dr. Barry Burns, entitled
"Timing Your Entries and Exits with Swiss Clock Precision". In this webinar, Dr. Barry Burns explains what to look for, by way of indicators, to determine if you have a high probability trend trade setup. I very much like his technique and is probably the best way to use indicators.

2. This archived webinar entitled "Capture reversal points with the use of indicators and oscillators" is found on Fxstreet.com.
Sam Seiden, is most famous for trading supply and demand zones with charts without indicators. So, we really appreciate that he graced us with his insights as to how to properly use indicators. Compare his method to Dr. Barry Burns. Enjoy!

In my post on April 16, 2008 I've wrote about "the trend is your friend" and how one would
draw trend lines to help identify the trend.

But there are other ways to determine the trend. In this 10 min video, Dr. Barry Burns, of TopDogTrading.com, explains how using a simple moving average can help give you an idea of what the prevailing trend is. Enjoy!
